Today’s post is a simple ode to my beautiful, kind, cheerful, loud, computer sick, autistic, persevering, wonderful boy with his easy smile, who turns six today.
He still does, and always has, melted people with his bright blue eyes, shrill voice, and beautiful smile and it can sometimes be pure pleasure to witness his special and genuine view of life.
Despite having to deal with some challenges in life he heroically fights on with a smile on his face. The ABA program is definitely kicking in and he is constantly progressing. That is also largely due to the wonderful people he is surrounded with, our family, in the kindergarten and elsewhere.
My dearest darling boy, thank you for teaching me to appreciate many of the most important things in life, some of which are far too often taken for granted. I admire you so much for your intent, willpower and ability to achieve what you aim for, no matter how long it takes. Your innocence and pure sincerity is so endearing and your focus on the present moment is something many of us could learn from.
I love you.
